Updated system requirements for Cities Skylines 2

I wrote in an article here that it was likely that the specs could change and they did. Along with delaying the release of the console version, the developers said they decided to change the system requirements for the game due to testing and results. Now it is up to you to decide if you need to upgrade your gaming PC. I’m not sure if the system requirements might change over time. So if you plan to play Cities Skylines 2 for a long time, then you need to look at the recommended system requirements.

My thoughts on the specification

Imagine the situation: after publishing the system requirements, I would create a new PC strategy game. Then I would write an article about it. Based on the experience I’d had with the previous Cities Skylines, I would focus on a PC which has:

  • Strong Graphic Card
  • Fast and large SSD (1TB+) (for game you will need smaller)
  • Enough RAM (16GB+) (i will use 32 GB)
  • Procesor with high frequency (4 GHz+)

But this is just my speculation. I will recalculate everything when they show us the actual system requirements. Then I will try to bring a PC that will be recommended +50% to make it last longer.

Cities Skylines 2 is going to be one of the most complex strategy/simulation game available in 2023 or 2024. After all, consider how players who use throw assets play. They simply need a powerful computer to do that.

Speculation from PCGameBenchmark.com

One of the biggest speculations came from PCGameBenchmark. These predictions mean that you will be able to play Cities Skylines 2 on weaker PCs…

… if I compare their predictions to the current system requirement of Cities Skylines 2, then we should see that it is “slightly similar” to the current version. However, Cities Skylines was published in 2015 and I think that we’ve already moved on a bit and it’s going to take more performance. It is possible, however, that I’m wrong and we’re more likely to see something similar to what the folks at PCGameBenchmark.com are predicting.
